R I D E  /  U P – C L O S E  I N  A  H O T – A I R  B A L L O O N

 Since I have the “Hot-air balloon” thing in my bucket list, I really suggest this event with my high school friends (ARMSTRONG) in one of  our escapade  list this year. Glad that they join me to be in Pampanga to witness the inflation of these balloons from the ground and the thrilling wait for them to fly up in the sky. Though we really want to fly with it, tight budget didn’t allowed us to do so. Different shapes and colors of hot-air balloons filled the sky that Sunday, 12th of February, which is also the last day of this yearly event representing different institutions and company all over the world.

Though there where some inflated balloons that didn’t flew in the sky for unknown reasons just like the lovely daisy and cute panda above, I still couldn’t count those hot-air balloons flying above us in their own wind directions just like these stuffs below.

After the big-colorful event, they also bring other aerial activity for the audience to watch and enjoy…

After watching CITY HUNTER and SUNGKYUNKWAN SCANDAL, this is the  next drama featuring the lead actress Park Min Young. I recently known the main lead actor in the drama CINDERELLA STORY, and since the main casts are popular in the above mentioned dramas, I decided to watch this 24 episode long drama; GLORY JANE also known as MAN OF HONOR.

S Y N O P S I S :

Yoon Jae In (Park Min Young) is a bright and sunny woman raise in an orphanage but still persistent in reaching her dream to be a registered nurse. Kim Young Kwang (Chun Jung Myung) is a baseball player who had his career break during a major league when he become a 4th hitter but now having a hard time to hit a goal again to prove himself. On the other hand, a baseball player, Seo In Woo (Lee Jang Woo) is in his peak of being famous as a goal hitter in a professional team own by his father. The three meet each other in an hospital where in Jae In is working as a nursing-aide and both man suffers from separate accidents during two major baseball leagues. A love triangle connects these people as they discover and reveal the secrets of their lives and seek justice for the incidents from the past.

Love her character of being a positive woman. How she manage to smile inspite of the fact that she’s been abandoned and raised in an orphanage with nothing left in herself but a name and a face of a man she thought to be her father. A teddy bear face where she will transfer to any bag that she’ll gonna use, and yes, a baseball signed by a certain baseball player, KIM YOUNG KWANG.  LOL… ( a true number one fan )

I really hope that all nurses are just like her who is so dedicated to their work while showing passion and love for their patients.

Knowing the idea of having the share in her father’s company and with the help of those people around her, she manage to run the company just like what her late father want it to be! GO GIRL!

After all that she had gone through, she learned to forgive the person behind her real father’s death and her mother’s coma state that lead her to be  an orphan for seventeen (17) long years.

K I M   Y O U N G   K W A N G 

The determine, full of pride and a righteous man. I cried in the scenes during their childhood days and the first time he try to bat. But hey, he hit a goal and give to young Jae In his first goal with a high hopes that he will become a home-run king someday and marry her. LOLS…

How lucky Jae In to have him. Love how he protects her when they mistakenly found out that they are sibling and even more when they learned the true identity of Jae In.  ( It’s just that, its so unfair that they never had a kiss scene in this drama while In Woo and Jae In had it twice! )

Love the scenes during their task to be a part of the sales team whenever he completed his test especially when he able to make laugh the president. But I cried when he did after that celebration where he had to entertain his former team mates just to please that president.

After all the hardships, he manage to become a home-run king and ask again the same girl the same question if she will marry him! CUTE

S E O   I N  W O O    

He delivered his role as a “severe panic attack patient” in this drama that I would actually move my head just like what his doing during his attacks! LOL… But at the same time, you will feel so sorry for him to experience that illness as if its almost true! A good actor for that role.

Though most of the dramas shows how main lead actor follow orders from their parents of about how to live their lives, I found more affection for In Woo maybe because of his condition, having a severe fright towards his father leading him to have panic attacks!

Inspite of years in fear and having the ideas of his father’s wicked doings regarding Jae In’s and Young Kwang’s family, he stayed in his side even the time his father died. A very loving son indeed. He chose to overcome his fears from the past to solve their current problems and even help his rival Young Kwang to reach his dream and let go he woman he love to find her happiness in the arms of her one and only home-run king. WOW…

R E M A R K S :

Whats with the ending? Staring for that long after a proposal. That’s it! And what about that scene of In Woo together with Jae In’s mother? Are they couple? LOL! Noted also the magical necklace that supposedly a gift for Jae In from her late father. What’s with its sparks and that magical sound whenever she and also Young Kwang are in difficult situations.  In other words, the casts and story are great but the ending really left you hanging for a very long moment and then its T H E  E N D…

Learned this drama after winning major awards in SBS 2011 Drama Awards. Main actress, Choi Kang Hee, is new to me while I know Ji Sung is from SAVE THE LAST DANCE and Wang Ji Hye took part in PERFECT PREFERENCE as Kae In’s bestfriend. Hero Jaejoong on the other hand, since I’m a k-pop fan, is known as a former member of  TVXQ and now part of  JYJ. CUTE!!!

SYNOPSIS:

No Eun Sol (Kang Hee) is known to be a gangster during her school days and decided to start looking for a job after graduating. She accidentally bumped with Cha Ji Heon (Ji Sung) during an encounter with a pervert employer where she is currently working. Unknowingly, she escape from her boss’ bodyguards, leaving Ji Heon there beaten by the guards whose mistaken him as No Eun Sol companion. She continued searching for jobs and eventually hired by Cha Mu Won (Jaejoong), a director of DN Group, to be the new secretary for his cousin Cha Ji Heon. When both cousins and (Seo Na Yun), a woman link with them, together with their parents, start to get associated with No Eun Sol, her life changed. With these people around her, how can she protect the boss from harm while protecting her heart to fall in love.

CHARACTERIZATION:

NO EUN SOL    

Physically strong woman whose trying to leave her past image as a gangster. Working in DN Group of company, she was torn between the love of both young directors who are also cousins. Trying her best to protect her boss in helping him to overcome his illness and prove his self-worth in running the company as the next successor, she discovered illegal transactions within the company.

  CHA JI HEON

Immature candidate for the next successor of his father’s company, he fell in love with No Eun Sol, his secretary. With the help of this woman, he overcome his illness and prove that he can run their business. But things get complicated for both of them when No Eun Sol has been accused of leaking legal documents and issues about the President (Ji Heon’s father) that leads No Eun Sol to leave the company. Various incidents happen that lead him to decide for both of them. To let go the woman he love  for the moment and manage their business when his father got sick. Question is, will No Eun Sol wait for him that long?

CHA MU WON

Responsible son and a hardworking director of DN Group. Candidate for the next successor of his uncle, he’s willing to do all necessary things for the position in the right way. Secretly in love with Seo Na Yun even though he knows her feelings toward Ji Heon from the start. Had the chance to proclaim his feelings but the woman take him down. He then discover his feelings towards No Eun Sol but later found out that the woman’s heart is only for Ji Heon. Though the situation of their hearts are like this, he still protect No Eun Sol and his cousin in revealing those persons behind the leaking issues regarding the company.

 SEO NA YUN

A simple-minded woman who at first mistaken her feelings for Ji Heon as love.  Later than she discover that the man who she had taken for granted is her real love. In search for her independence from her wicked thinking mother, she have new-found friendship with No Eun Sol. But before she proclaim her feelings towards Cha Mu Won, the man is already in love with her new friend.  Still not losing hope she fight with all her might to win Cha Mu Won’s heart and help her friend No Eun Sol from her selfish mother.

REMARKS:

Nothing else to say but surely love the ending! Not like the other dramas I had watched, this one didn’t leave me hanging in the end and clearly shows what happen to the main cast and almost even the other roles of the story. No major antagonists except for their parents whose against their relationship. A wonderful ending that simply shows the meaning of true friendship, love and trust… LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! A nice story to start my year 2012!

TO WITNESS AND PARTICIPATE IN A COUNTRY’S BIGGEST FESTIVAL

I can’t even recall when was the first time I experienced to join this yearly event in Aklan, Philippines. I was in my early age when me and my family happen to visit this province and had the chance to witness the said event and I never had it again until this year. Maybe its a blessing in disguise that I’m a official unemployed till this month that I able to spent time to travel with my parents in their native land – AKLAN. For two short weeks, we stayed in the house of our close relatives and witnessed the ATI-ATIHAN FESTIVAL celebration highlights from January 14-15 before we headed home in the 17th of the same month. An experience that I will truly treasure till the rest of my life. Surely, ATI-ATIHAN is more fun in the Philippines.

FLOWER BOYS RAMYUN SHOP is a story of Yang Eun Bi (Lee Chung Ah) who is preparing for her civil exam to be a school teacher and happen to had a chance to be a student teacher -intern-. During her review for her exam she accidentally meet (Jung Il Woo) Cha Chi Soo and rich, chaebol prince and eventually fall for him only to realize that he is one of her student and six (6) years younger than her. Her deceased dad left her his house together with his noodle (ramen) shop now own by Choi Kang Hyuk (Lee Ki Woo). All three of them ends up working and operating the ramen shop together with other two flower boys, Kim Ba Wool (Park Min Woo) & Woo Hyun Woo (Jo Yoon Woo). Their life change as they live together and continue to improve their self with the help of each other together with their friends.

He he he… they were just jokes okay! Though they were the flower boys I know ever since…

They are the real one! We only have a chaebol prince here not like that in BOYS OVER FLOWER. A chaebol prince but still imagining the SCHEDULER I knew back then in 49 Days! The story is just a so-so unlike the other Korean drama I had watch but the idea of Eun Bi and Cha Chi Soo’s 6 years age gap is one of those reasons why I’m having a hard time to accept their relationship. I still prefer Kang Hyuk for Eun Bi! (Sorry Cha-Yang fans out there). Hope there will be another drama for Kang Hyuk and Eun Bi. Love the other two flower boys whenever they are together, and how touching when they cooked their last batch of recipes inspired for one another. They don’t have a certain antagonist in here and the story just revolves around the following:

– Unacceptable and unimaginable success of Eun Bi and Cha Chi Soo’s love story inspite of their social status, age gap and student-teacher relationship.

– The real story behind Kang Hyuk and Cha Chi Soo’s family. (Their brothers you know!)

– Between the rivalry of the brothers, who will win Eun Bi in the end. (It’s CHA CHI SOO!!! grrrrr….) OMO I’m still affected and hurting for “The Pillar” Kang Hyuk.

In the end all of them together with the supporting cast live their happy life except Kang Hyuk… (Where are you now man? He he he)
